Hazard Evaluations & PPE
Personal protective equipment, or "PPE," is the last line of defense when hazards cannot be eliminated in other ways.
There are many kinds of PPE: gloves, respirators, safety shoes, hardhats, fall protection equipment, and rescue harnesses for confined space entrants just to name a few. Except for respiratory protection, your supervisor is required to train you on any PPE you will need to protect yourself from hazards in your workplace.
For help selecting or learning how to use PPE to protect yourself from chemical or biological hazards, noise, heat, cuts or abrasions, or injuries to the lungs, eyes, face, or hands, contact Mary Cavanaugh.
For help selecting or learning how to use PPE to protect yourself from slips, trips, falls, electrocution, or any injuries to the feet, contact the Occupational Safety Manager, Joey Lucia
